Şimdi sizlere Nasrettin Hoca'nın "Göle Yoğurt Çalmak" fıkrasını anlatacağım.
Günlerden bir gün, Nasrettin Hoca eline yoğurt mayası bakracını alıp göle doğru yola koyulmuş. Gölün etrafında piknik yapan köylüler hocaya dikkat kesilmişler. Hoca Nasreddin başlamış yoğurt mayasını göle kaşık kaşık dökmeye. Köylüler şaşkınlıkla izlerken içlerinden biri hocanın yanına varmış.
"Hayırdır hocam ne yapıyorsun böyle?" diye sormuş.
"Göle yoğurt mayası çalıyorum" demiş.
"İlahi hocam hiç göle maya çalmakla göl maya tutar mı?"
Hoca Nasrettin o nüktedan cevaplarından birini daha vermiş: "Ya tutarsa?"
English Translation
Now I will tell you the Nasrettin Hodja’s story of stirring yogurt in the lake.
One day, Nasrettin Hodja took a container of yogurt starter and set off towards the lake. The villagers picnicking around the lake paid close attention to the Hodja. Nasrettin Hodja started dumping the yogurt starter into the lake by the spoonful. While the villagers watched in amazement, one of them approached the Hodja.
“What’s going on, what are you doing, Hodja?” he asked.
“I’m stirring yogurt starter into the lake,” Hodja replied.
“Good heavens, Hodja, could a lake ever turn into yogurt by adding starter?”
Nasrettin Hodja gave one of his witty replies: “What if it does work?”
