Bölgenin en önemli kenti bizim Hieropolis, Kastabala'nın en erken döneminde, Neolitik dönemde bile yerleşim gördüğü ifade ediliyor çıkan buluntulardan. M.Ö. 5000'li yıllarda. Bu gördüğünüz sütunlu cadde tamamen Roma döneminden kalma. Romalılar İtalya'da büyük bir imparatorluk kurduktan sonra Anadolu'ya egemen oluyorlar. Kentleri romalılaştırıyorlar, hakimiyetlerini kuruyorlar ve kente sütunlu caddeler, hamamlar, tapınaklar, kemerli su yolları yaparak büyüklüklerini gösteriyorlar. English Translation
The most important city of the region is our Hierapolis, Kastabala. It is stated that the earliest period of settlement here dates back to the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the findings discovered. [The settlement is dated to] around 5000 BC. This columned street you see is completely from the Roman period. After establishing a great empire in Italy, the Romans became dominant in Anatolia. They Romanize the cities, establish their dominance, and demonstrate their grandeur by building columned streets, baths, temples, and arched aqueducts in the city. The continuation of this columned street you see here goes all the way to the main road. There is an entrance from the main road. Excavations were started in 2009 by Turgut Hacı Zeyrek. The population sometimes increased, sometimes decreased, but for a city with a theater that can hold 5000 people, for sure there were thousands of people living there.
